A Glasgow nightclub has installed a two-way mirror which allows male revellers in private booths to spy on unsuspecting women as they visit the toilet! With no notification or signage anywhere in the venue many female club goers have been left feeling embarrassed and used. Although they do briefly show the mirrors in a promo video, the club has been quickly deleting comments and posts on their social media from club goers trying to alert others to the situation. This is pretty much illegal and hugley violates privacy. Thank you The Shimmy Club for giving us a shiny, new, creative and cool take on objectification.

Remember ladies:

• “No space, leave the place” (fingernail test)
• A two way mirror must be set INTO the wall, not placed on top of it.
• If you rap/knock against the mirror, one installed onto a wall (a normal mirror) will make a dull sound, because there’s something behind it. A two-way will have more reverberation.
• Use the flashlight on your phone to shine on the mirror, if it’s a two-way, you’ll be able to see into the other room.
• You can also shield your eyes and see in if you lean up against the glass.
• The room being viewed will have to be brightly lit (10x brighter than the room looking in), so if you’re in a typical dimly lit club bathroom, you’re ok.

Spread the word, but that advice about detecting two-way mirrors is false.

Actually, only the ‘fingernail test’ is wrong there. The rest of those points are accurate. (I mean, a mirror set into the wall doesn’t mean “this is definitely a one-way mirror!!!”, but it’s an indication that it might be.)

the fact that tyrion chooses not to rape her is negligible—she belongs to a society where she is only fractionally protected by the fact that she is twelve years old, an ableist society where she is pitied for marrying a dwarf , a society where she is pitied as a captive but it is accepted as a tool of war, because her body is not her own and her worth is that of a pawn  

sansa has learned a very real lesson on consent and bodily and sexual autonomy, continuing as littlefinger seeks to further strip her of it, taking away her identity and forcing his kisses and touches onto her, normalizing his abuse and building a cycle of it 

the question is will she use her lesson as a method of perpetrating further abuse and oppression and as a means of internalzing misogyny, like cersei

or even just continue perpetrating the system with a benevolent intent and somewhat fatalistic approach towards the abuses inherent in the system, like her parents

or will she use it to question a system that has set her up for failure and a life of abuse and to create change
